Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Even the principal at Frank Tillery Elementary school wanted to milk
the Arkansas Farm Bureau cow!

I'm thankful for teachers and principals that love teaching students
and give us the opportunity to share information  about
                                                                 Arkansas agriculture.

Sweet Mother'sDay

Mother's Day is one of the sweetest celebrations
when surrounded by the ones you love.

It was a great time of food, fellowship and of course...dessert!
You can't beat a piece of Crusty Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

We're a little behind on the wheat harvest due to heavy rains last week.
Fortunately, the cooler temperatures kept it from maturing
too fast while we waited for the soggy fields to dry.

I'm very thankful that the crop is not damaged,
our cows are loving it in their feed ration,
                                                                                and

the family is happy to be working
to finish the spring harvest.

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

It was good to see the  dairy cows resting and enjoying the late afternoon sunshine
after all the cloudy, cool and rainy days that we've experienced in the last week.

Even though we had  some damage to our fences and a few trees
blown down from the excessive wind and rain last weekend,
I'm thankful for our safety, for the dedication of emergency workers in
Benton  County and  for the fact that no lives were lost during this flood.

Earth Day Everyday

Earth Day really is everyday down on the dairy farm.
As I watched the group of calves resting in the pasture next to the field
filled with milking cows,my thoughts turned to how we have
changed the environmental impact on dairy farms.

It's a fact that improvements in dairy cow nutrition, comfort, health and breeding have led to significant impact in production while decreasing the overall environmental impact.

Dairy farms today produce a gallon milk using
95 percent less land and 65 percent less water while producing
76 percent less manure compared with 1944.

Our farm has been in the family since 1919.
We love caring for our animals, contributing to the local community
and most important, producing healthy milk, cheese and yogurt
                                                                for you and your family.
