Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Last Sunday afternoon dedicated firemen from three different community
fire departments showed up to save a house located on one of our
farm properties. Fortunately, there were no people in the house at the time of the
fire and the quick and efficient  work of the firemen saved the dwelling.

We know many of these firemen personally and appreciate the
fact that they represent generations of  firefighters in our community.

I'm so thankful for these dedicated men that
volunteer to keep our communities safe.

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Last week I was invited to give an update on county government issues to the Bentonville Early Riser  Rotary Club. Since it's June Dairy Month, it seemed only natural to include a little dairy info, too!

Rex introduced me to the group and explained that our  friendship  began when I worked for him in the drug store during my high school years. It was the first time I had the opportunity to give Rex his proper thank-you for being the reason I became a dairy farmer. If I hadn't worked for him in high school, Ryan's mother would never have given me a chance with her dairy farmer son!

I'm thankful for all the members in my Bentonville community that mentored me  in serving others  such as my piano teacher,Araminta, my Girl Scout leader,Marilyn, that led us   from 2nd grade till I graduated, and for Rex, the local pharmacist, that taught me that the customer is always right !

I'm thankful to be Arkansas Grown!

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

As we kick off our Benton County Farm Bureau Membership Campaign with a proclamation from Benton County Judge Bob Clinard recognizing the importance of agriculture in our community, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my community through the volunteer activities of Benton County Farm Bureau.

                                                        Happy Farm Bureau Week!

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Looking back at 2014, these are just a few of the experiences I'm thankful for...

serving on the Benton County Quorum Court,

for my new daughter-in-love,

the opportunity to share our farm story,

the beautiful cows and calves on our dairy farm,
and
for 30 years married to the farm and the farmer.

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
           ----Jeremiah 29:31

                                                           Happy New Year!

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

The Bentonville City Council honored my mother,Mary Baggett, for her years of service to the community and in her position as city alderman for the last 12 years.

It was absolutely perfect in every way--especially the dessert reception following the meeting!
( My mother's favorite meal--sweets!)

I'm thankful for this community leader that leads by example in serving others  and always strives to make our corner of the world the best it can be!

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Araminta Richardson, my childhood piano teacher, was a remarkable person and obviously very patient when you think about the many hours spent with a variety of students. She traveled every month to small towns in Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma to offer an opportunity for young people to not only play the piano or organ but to create an army of pianists and organists  for future service to the churches in our area.

Students from across the area  were brought together for several Christmas programs in Bentonville.
Not all came willingly, but we had a lot of fun practicing!

As I prepare music for our church service this week, I'm thankful for my special friend, Araminta, who lovingly taught me a skill that I could use in service to the church and for my own enjoyment.
