Labors of Love

Labor Day down on the dairy farm, like everyday,
will be full of the daily chores that include
milking the cows,

mixing and preparing feed to provide the
daily nutrition for the milking cows,

feeding the calves,

driving  tractors to complete a  a variety of  daily chores,

welcoming new members to the herd,

checking crops,

and enjoying time together as a family.

Every activity down on the family dairy farm is a

labor of love as we work together to care for our animals,

produce nutritious milk and make Labor Day memories

                                                              for our  next generation.

                                                               Happy Labor Day!

Dairy Time

As the sun was setting this afternoon, the dairy cows  were resting and
enjoying their leisure time in the pasture.

It was obvious that even though we changed the milking times
to accommodate the time change, the cows didn't seem to notice that
 Daylight Savings Time ended today.

I'm afraid it will take me a couple of days to adjust to the schedule
changes in chore times even though I did get that extra hour of sleep!

We live on dairy time regardless of the
beginning or end of Daylight Savings Time.

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

In spite of the cold, dreary January day, my heart was happy as I drove
the tractor up and down the  calf hutch rows while my
oldest son Cody scooped grain for each calf.

It really was an ordinary day of work  but I cherish and am thankful for
these  moments in time as I work side by side with
both my sons on the family dairy farm.

Cody was probably thankful that he didn't get run over!

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Labor Day,like all the other days of the year,
found  us busy with the daily chores of feeding calves,

                                                            milking and feeding the cows,

and
welcoming a new calf to the farm.

I'm thankful for the opportunity we have to labor everyday together as a family
down on the Arkansas dairy farm.
