Thankful Thursday

April brings more than showers!
We welcomed this new calf just after the showers
and a cool down in the temperature.
As you can see, the calf found a cozy spot on the
hay as her Mother continued to eat before going to
the milk barn.

I am thankful for all the blessings of spring--

new life on the farm,

celebrating our precious Hattie's 6th birthday,

                                                                              and

to live in a country that gives us the opportunity

to seek election  to serve our community.

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Even though I have been serving in this position of Justice of the Peace
for nearly six years, this was the first year I had a campaign.
From the filing day in February to November 6th,
I have gained new appreciation for the entire process of a campaign.

The best part of campaigning was meeting new people that live in my district.
I appreciate all those who allowed me a spot for signs on their property,
for the politeness of those who answered the knock on their door
and accepted my card or took a moment to talk about how I could
represent their interests.

I'm thankful the campaign is over and grateful for the opportunity
to continue serving the citizens of Benton County.

Most of all, I'm thankful for the blessings I receive daily
as a citizen legislator in Benton County,

                                                                       a dairy  farmer,
                                                                              and

                                                             Sheriff Callie's Grandma!

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

As I made my way to the County Administration Building on Monday  to file for the 2014 election, I thought a lot about what a privilege and honor it is to serve  as Justice of Peace for District 9.

I'm thankful for the opportunity to represent Benton County residents  as a citizen legislator.

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

How many mother-daughter combos do you see in the same election year?

We're not on the same ballot, but as natives of Bentonville and Benton County, we desire to represent and serve our friends and neighbors.

I'm thankful for my Mother's example of   caring
for our community with a servant-leader heart.
