Dairy Farmer's Thankful Thursday

We salute our Veterans.

Where would we be without their service to our country?

As we go about our daily work down on the dairy farm,

we celebrate our freedom to farm and live a most blessed

life in the United Sates of America.

Ryan's dad, Bill, served during World War II.

He was a medic stationed in Japan and returned

home to farm. The horrors of war were

too painful to talk about but you never questioned 

his love of country.

My Dad, Harral, served in the Navy

just as the war was coming to an end.

He was a man of few words but his devotion to

 our nation was unwavering.

                                             I'm thankful for the service of these two fathers who 

                         helped instill the love of country into their children and grandchildren 

                              and all Veterans across our nation that served to protect our freedom.

                                                     May God continue to bless our nation!

                                 

                                                          

If Barns Could Talk

Ryan's mother milked in this barn during World War II when his dad was serving in Japan.

In a day of no instant communication like we have today, I can only imagine the thoughts and concerns of a young bride as she milked the cows every morning and evening.

If barns could talk...

can you imagine the stories we would hear?

It's a simple reminder to me of the sacrifices made by the

 men, women and families of the past to ensure the freedoms we enjoy today.

Dairymom's Thankful Thursday

Veteran's Day reminds us of the sacrifices being made

 today and in the past to provide the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis.

I love this 1944 picture of Ryan's dad.

Bill and Bonnah Lyn were married in  Tyler,Texas 

before he was sent to Japan during World War II.

We can only imagine what he experienced as an ambulance driver and medic.

because he  never talked about the war when he returned  home.

I do know that we can never say thank-you enough to all those

 who served in past wars and those who are serving today.

I'm thankful for the  recognition given to all veterans on Veteran's Day

and 

to live in the United States.

Freedom to Farm

We are blessed to live in America, the land of the free and the brave. 

Both of our fathers served  our country during World War II and although neither talked very much about the war, we know that our freedom is precious. Our freedom to live, work and farm  on our 3rd generation Arkansas  dairy farm is possible because of those who were willing to protect our freedom.

                             Memorial Day is a day of remembrance and thankfulness for those who
                                        have given the ultimate sacrifice to provide for our freedom.
                        A heart felt thanks to the men, women and families that have sacrificed for all of us!

During World War II, Ryan's mother, Bonnah Lyn,  milked cows in this old barn that sits in the middle of our dairy farm while his Dad was stationed in Japan as an army medic. As a multi-generational  dairy farm family, we appreciate the sacrifices that our family made for our country--it was definitely  a team effort. 

  We will forever be in debt to the men and women who have served and are serving  our country in times of war and peace.

Veteran's Day

 

Ryan's parents ,Bill and Bonnah Lyn, were married in 1944 at Tyler, Texas,  just a few days before Bill was sent to Japan during World War II. Just a day or two after being married, Bonnah Lyn returned home to work on the farm with her father  while Bill was overseas.  

 

 

 

 

While we can never thank our Veteran's enough for their service to our country, 

I also give thanks to the families of these men and women for keeping the home fires burning  during times of war and peace.
