Easter Blessings

Our Easter blessings began
with the  ordinary daily work
of caring for our dairy cattle ,

the opportunity to gather with our church family for the
first time in months due to the pandemic,

gathering around the table to enjoy a family meal,

the joy and excitement on the faces of the grandchildren
as they investigated the contents of their Easter baskets,

the beautiful weather that made hunting Easter eggs
one of the afternoon's  highlights,

and
the joy of sharing our dairy farming way of
life with the next generation.

Our greatest blessing is that we serve a  risen Savior!

It's His great love that blesses us  on the ordinary and

extraordinary days of life down on the dairy farm.

Evergreen Easter

Although  COVID-19 has disrupted our normal way
of living down on the Arkansas dairy farm,
what hasn't changed is our Hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.

He Lives

He lives, He lives!
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.

Dairy Farmer's Thankful Thursday

Even though you don't see any black spots on this new calf, it is a Holstein.
There's nothing prettier than a pure  white calf  on bright spring green grass.
Each calf is unique and has characteristics of its parents.
In fact, every calf's spots or markings are unique to them.

What I love about all of the dairy cows, no matter what kind or color,
they provide us with delicious, nutritious  milk.

I'm thankful for the new spring calf crop
and the milk that is produced for all of us to enjoy.

What kind of world would it be without
butter and cream cheese to use when baking Easter
goodies like Coconut Cake with Pineapple Filling?

Dairy Farmer's Thankful Thursday

We experience new life on the dairy  farm year round,
but there's nothing like seeing new calves born in the spring
on a carpet of new green grass and the beauty around us.

Our expectant mothers have been watched closely
   to insure a healthy delivery.
It's always exciting to meet our new baby!

Our days are filled with routine chores and common every
day challenges but I'm thankful for the blessings of new life,
for the smiles and laughter of children
and

the Hope of the Easter season.

From down on the dairy farm,
                                                               Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Christ the Lord Is Risen Today

Christ the Lord is ris'n today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high,Alleluia!
Sing,ye heav'ns and earth,reply, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King,Alleluia!
Where,O Death. is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying once He all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O Grave? Alleluia!

Love's redeeming work is done,Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain for bids Him rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened Paradise, Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Happy Easter!

Even though it's a typical day on the dairy farm with milking the cows and feeding calves and cows, it's also a special day of celebration with family and friends recognizing the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

It's no coincidence that we are experiencing the beauty of nature at the same time we celebrate the fact--He's alive!

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it,Lord, that I should boast,
                                                         Save in the death of Christ, my God;
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See, from His head, His hands, His feet,
                                                         Sorrow and love flow mingled down;
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
                                                          That were a present far too small;
                                                          Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

Happy Easter!

As I walked down the driveway to the mailbox just before dark, our curious pregnant cows stopped grazing just long enough to make sure I wasn't going to get close enough to interrupt their grass snacking time.  It almost looked like they were hunting for Easter eggs in the grass!

After a half inch of rain, a partial day of sunshine and the  temperature above 60 degrees for a couple of days, you can almost  see the grass growing. After experiencing last year's drought and continuing to deal with the shortage of hay and feed for our cows, it's truly a blessing to see the new grass and the contentedness of our cows.

Easter, the annual church celebration commemorating Christ's resurrrection, coincides with the beginning evidence of spring in northwest Arkansas. The beauty of our world is a vivid reminder of God's perfect plan for each of us.

He Lives!

Although I attend church every Sunday, I look forward to our Easter worship service. Since 1933, Christians have sung He Lives and it  has been part of my Easter tradition since I was a very small child attending church with my family.  Blessings to you and yours!

He   Lives

I serve a risen Saviour; He's in the world today.
I know that He is living, whatever men may say.

I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer;
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

In all the world around me, I see His loving care.
And tho' my heart grows weary I never will despair.

I know that He is leading, thro' all the stormy blast.
The day of His appearing will come at last.

Rejoice,rejoice, O Christian!
Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King!

The Hope of all who seek Him,
the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.

He lives, He lives!
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart!
